Getting Back into Life’s Flow

If you sense that you’ve been derailed off the course your life was taking, stop now and consider:

·         Are my recent thoughts and actions out of alignment with the direction in which I want my life to move?

·         Am I experiencing fear and/or regret?

·         Am I busy paying attention to other people’s lives and perceived good fortune?

Any one of these may be the culprit for your derailment.  Let’s explore each:

Alignment – there’s a reason we feel ‘off’ and often it’s because we’ve started to move in a direction that is out of alignment with what we want for our lives or the natural flow of life.  When this happens, it’s important to pause and take inventory of how our thoughts and actions either support the life we want or limit our ability to attain that life.  If it’s the latter, examine your thoughts and determine what the belief is behind them.  If you discover limiting beliefs, investigate the origin and how invested you are in them.  When you’re ready to release them, work on finding beliefs that still resonate, but better support the desires of your heart.  Once your thoughts and beliefs are clear and aligned, then examine your actions.  Do they support or hinder your progress?  How are you spending your time?  Do these activities move you closer to or further from the life you intend for yourself?  Make the necessary changes so that your actions reflect your values and are aligned with your desired future.

Fear and Regret – Both fear and regret create contraction in your heart, mind, and life flow.  If you’re experiencing these emotions, do a check-in and get interested in any feelings that come up associated with fear and regret.  What are the thoughts behind them?  Is there a limiting dialogue ruminating in your conscious, feeding the thoughts around fear and regret?  Often the feelings of fear are around our concern for the future, while regrets are associated with the past.  Neither of them is in your control, only the present moment.  Refocus and use your mindfulness exercises to remain in the moment, fully attentive and available to move in ways that are expansive and put you back into life’s flow.

Mind YOUR Business – It’s a monumental set up for failure when we use our precious time consumed by what other people are doing in their lives.  We see the perceived success and joy displayed on social media and start to compare it to our own circumstances.  Be happy for them and return your focus and attention to your own affairs to create the best life for YOU.  Periot! Once you tend to these three areas, you’ll be back into the flow of life with an expanded heart and mind!  If you want exercises to support you, please contact me at monet@poshlifeconsulting.com.
