Getting Unstuck

The feeling of ‘stuck’ can be a bit tricky.  Sometimes we’re fooled into believing we just need some time to figure out what’s next, or time to refuel, or to be still and wait on divine intervention and/or inspiration, or we’re in overwhelm.  The trouble with any and all of these is that they are legitimate pursuits and reasons not to move forward and hence can become the crutch we use to remain immobilized.

I’m struggling with this very thing now.  And it’s not like, I haven’t gotten myself out of these situations in the past so you would think I’d immediately be able to recognize the signs of ‘stuckness’.  BUT NO!  I’m as immobilized now as I have been in the past and am very convincing in telling myself it’s just a necessary time out.

So how do we know the difference between ‘stuckness’ and the need for downtime and replenishing?  It’s a gut check.  When I take the time and quiet to dig deep and explore the emotions that are brewing within, the fear and need for safety surface and reveal that I am actually stuck and need to do some excavating work to move forward.

So, ladies, based on my personal experience, I offer the tips below for getting UNSTUCK:

1.      Take some time in quiet meditation and allow your emotions to surface.  Investigate each of them to reveal what’s truly going on internally.  Is it fear? Resistance? Denial? Unworthiness?  What are the core emotions you’re experiencing?

2.      Investigate each one and determine the beliefs behind the emotion.  They are usually limiting beliefs causing the emotion.  Once you’ve identified the beliefs, make a list of them and then determine how they are affecting you.  Are they ‘limiting’ or ‘helpful’?  Put an ‘L’ or an ‘H’ next to each.

3.      For each limiting belief, create a counter affirmation to help develop and nurture a more empowering belief system.  It may not feel completely true at first, but it should resonate on some level and generate excitement, if not, it will fall flat and be unproductive.  So, for example, if my limiting belief is that I can’t make money doing what I love.  I can create a counter affirmation that states I am abundantly cared for as I follow the desires of my heart, doing divinely inspired work.

I hope this helps you as it has helped me in the past.  What are some of the ways you get ‘unstuck’?

From my heart to yours,

Monet Cole
